Together, we're the next BIG thing in data. Job Description The IT organization is recruiting for its senior leader for cloud transformation of engineering services! Western Digital is building an icon storage company holding 40% of world data stored on our products. Our 10K+ engineers globally play an important role for future of storage technology. The Sr. Director, Engineering Services Cloud, IT role will enable the engineering functions to ensure they have the right technology, at the right time and are enabled to deliver. This role will strengthen and manage relationships in the Engineering organization for HDD, Flash and the STM functions globally. The Sr. Director for Cloud transformation will work closely with engineering organization, understand the product roadmap, build and align the IT transformation roadmap for next 3–5-years. This role reports directly to the VP IT Engineering Services within the IT organization at Western Digital. Global engineering IT team is a group of ~150+ team members dispersed globally (talent mix of WDC headcount and contractors). This role will be part of the VP staff, partnering with all the engineering IT functions in transforming the respective functions. Qualifications ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Build a strong partnership between Engineering community and IT and advise the transformation roadmap. Develop and implement a cloud first strategy Build and develop a world class and high performing cloud team Identify key metrics and KPI's and find opportunities for improvement in cloud space. Modernize IT footprints supporting Engineering functions Qualifications 15+ years of progressive experience as a hands-on technical leader in a large technology organization with international work experience Experience successfully managing cross-functional relationships with senior leaders Experience working in an Engineering environment with understanding of applications and infrastructures including High Performance Computing. Experience driving application rationalization and transformation. Modernization and cloud transformation of engineering platforms and applications. Demonstrated ability to develop short- and long-term strategies Proven experience in building and developing a high performing global team Strong oral and written communication skills to influence stakeholders Travel may be required, approximately once per quarter The experience in working with semiconductor or storage company would be added advantage Additional Information Western Digital thrives on the power and potential of diversity.
